Organic Blueberry & Coconut Overnight Oats

One thing I will probably be posting a lot of here on “Petit a Petit L’oiseau Fait Son Nid” is simplistic, healthy, fresh & easy to make snacks and meals. Whether you’re a career woman who’s constantly working, a stay at home mom who’s constantly cleaning & picking up after the kids, or in other words… BUSY- These will be perfect for you because of how quick they are to prepare. Myย first little food post will be about my Blueberry & Coconut Organic Overnight Oats! I love eating foods that I made with fresh, organic ingredients because I know exactly what I am putting in my body. No need to worry about if you’ll get food poisoning, no need to worry about gaining 10 pounds, no need to worry if the cook washed their hands- it’s an awesome feeling, and I encourage you all to start preparing some simple snacks & meals for yourselves & your families! One of the best things about prepping these in mason jars and popping them in the fridge, is that you and your kids may chose that overย something like a candy bar or bag of potato chips. It’s just as convenient this way when it’s sitting in there waiting for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

What you’ll need:

  • Rolled Oats
  • Organic Fresh Blueberries
  • Organic Toasted Coconut Flakes
  • Organic Flax Seed
  • Organic All Natural Honey
  • Greek Yogurt (plain or vanilla depending on how sweet you want it to taste)
  • Organic Soy Milk (plain or vanilla depending on how sweet you want it to taste)

First off, I like to mix my honey into my greek yogurt because I am using the plain kind, and it could use the extra sweetness. (1 tbsp honey) You’ll want to fill the jars up about 1/3rd of the way with your oats. Once the oats are in the jar you can pile on about 1/4 cup greek yogurt right on top the oats and then add your soy milk (1/4 of a cup) Now you can add your tablespoon of organic flax seed. Add however many blueberries you’d like & a pinch of toasted coconut. See how mine looked after being layered below…

Looks like 1/3rd of this jar is oats, 1/3rd is yogurt & milk, and 1/3rd is blueberry, coconut &ย flax. Doesn’t it look nice? ๐Ÿ˜€ Now for the fun part… I will stick a spoon down in there and mix it all up, while I muddle a few of the berries to add some lovely color.

Smashing some of the blueberries makes it look so natural, earthy and beautiful. Now all you need to do is prepare your other jars, pop them in the fridge and let them sit overnight! In the morning add a couple more blueberries to the top, and some slivered almonds to finish it off.

I really hope this quick how-to inspired you to get in the kitchen and make this for yourself. Remember, you can get super creative with this! Add raspberries instead of blueberries, and mini chocolate chipsย instead of toasted coconut. Add extra stuff like chia seeds or chocolate whey protein powder for even more benefits! The options are endless! Cheers! xxx
